The Chamber Team Closure

It is with sadness and regret that The Chamber Team will be closing its platform this month. Ten years ago, we set out to develop a Chamber of Commerce product, designed and built by Chamber of Commerce professionals, that was a simple and affordable solution compared to other online solutions available at the time. Although we had many successes thanks to the support of our loyal and dedicated base of Chamber professionals, over the years, a lack of funding for continued development and support has resulted in the difficult decision to close the company indefinitely and discontinue support for the product effective April 15, 2019. 

The good news is that you will NOT lose your website. If your Chamber does not have an outstanding balance with us, you can maintain your existing website for a small fee of $15/month* up to Aug. 31, 2019. We hope this will give your chamber enough time to successfully transition the website to a new provider. What should we do next? First, begin looking for a new website provider. Second, create an account with eNom or another domain registrar and request a domain transfer. We will assist you in the transfer of your domain to your new registrar of choice. *Dependent on account status. All accounts must be paid to date in order to initiate the domain transfer.

What about my account with The Chamber Team?
We discontinued all billing as of Dec. 31, 2018. If you are up-to-date on your account, it means that you can contact The Chamber Team and begin the migration process to your new provider, domain and email where applicable. Please let us know in advance if you plan to keep your website active up to August 31, 2019*. If you have an outstanding balance on your account, the balance will need to be paid before we can assist you with the transition. If we have not received payment or a payment arrangement within 7 days of this notice, our assumption will be that you no longer require the services of The Chamber Team and your website will be shut down. We have included an attachment specific to your Chamber outlining the domains you currently have registered with us, expiry date, and your outstanding balance (if applicable).

As of April 15th, 2019, the following actions will take place;

  • Shut down of www.thechamberteam.com website and all support sites.
  • Shut down of all Chamber websites on our platform that have not been paid-to-date.
  • Discontinuation of domain renewals. This means that if you have not transferred your domain to a new registrar, your domain name will expire after the yearly renewal date as outlined in the attached document.
  • If your email is currently being hosted with The Chamber Team, this will need to be addressed with the transition to your new hosting provider.

As of August 31st, 2019, all websites still active on the platform will be shut down indefinitely. Moving forward, an email account has been created to facilitate communication during this transition, and to handle any billing related inquiries.

*One time pre-arranged payment. The fee is to cover server and domain costs. For example, to keep your website active up to Aug. 31, 2019 (4mos), a payment of $67.50 will be due. Pro-rated based on number of months required. Chambers that have already paid for the full year will not be charged.
